UPS Holidays 2017:

There are about nine holidays observed by United Parcel Service (UPS). All the UPS stores and post offices will be closed on these days. No package will be picked up or delivered on these days (except Critical Packages).

UPS observes the following holidays in the United States:

Thanksgiving Day – November 23, 2017*

New Year’s Eve – December 31, 2017

If any federal holiday falls on Saturday, then it is observed on Preceding Friday, and if any holiday falls on Sunday, then it is observed on following Monday. It’s a rule. Few holidays in the list is observed according to the same rule, and others are according to the Uniform Monday Holiday Act. It is the UPS holiday schedule.

All the UPS stores will remain open on these days. You can place your order, ship package, and packages will be delivered.

What if Shipping outside the U.S.?

You can see that before the list of observed holidays there is mentioned that it is the list of holidays observed by the U.S. So if you are shipping outside the U.S., then the observed holidays may be different. For this, you can view the World Holiday Calendar where you just need to select the country and the list of observed holidays will be there on your screen.

Exception:

UPS Express CriticalUPS takes care of the needs of its customers, and that’s why it offers the service UPS Express Critical® for critical shipments. This UPS service never takes a holiday. Through this service, you can ship your critical shipment or package 24×7 or 365 days a year.

UPS Next Day Air®, UPS Worldwide Express®, and UPS 2nd Day Air® packages are processed even on Saturdays. You can expect the delivery on Saturday. UPS Holiday Delivery Schedule:

Many UPS customers want to know how the UPS staff works or handles the pressure during the holiday week. So, here we’ll tell you the delivery schedule of UPS during few holidays:

  • Thanksgiving:

All UPS 2nd Day Air packages picked up on November 21 will be delivered on Nov. 24, and all UPS Next Day Air® packages picked up on Nov. 22 will also be delivered on Nov. 24. On Nov. 23, there will be no pickup and delivery of any package (except Express Critical packages). Then, after Thanksgiving Day all the pickup service and delivery service will resume.

  • Christmas:

On Dec. 18, there will be normal pickup and delivery of the packages. Dec. 18 will be the last day to ship UPS 3 Day Select® service before Christmas day. All the UPS 3 Day Select packages picked up on Dec. 19 will be scheduled for delivery on December 26. Dec. 20 will be the last day to ship UPS 2nd Day Air shipments for delivery before Christmas.  UPS Next Day Air packages picked up on Dec. 21 will be delivered on Dec. 22. December 22 is the last day to ship UPS Next Day Air shipments to be delivered before Christmas Day. On Dec. 23 there will be the delivery of UPS Next Day Air, UPS Worldwide Express, and UPS 2nd Day Air packages. There will be no delivery or pickup on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. On Dec. 26, normal delivery and pickup service will resume. That’s the UPS holiday hours or schedule for Christmas.

  • New Year:

UPS 2nd Day Air shipments picked up on Dec. 27 will be delivered on Dec. 29. UPS Next Day Air shipments picked up on Dec. 28 will also be delivered on Dec. 29, but UPS 2nd Day Air shipments picked up on this day will be delivered on Jan. 2. UPS Next Day Air shipments picked up on 29 Dec. will also be delivered on Jan. 2. On Dec. 30, there will be the delivery of UPS Next Day Air, UPS Worldwide Express, and UPS 2nd Day Air packages. There will be no pickup and delivery on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. These were the UPS holiday delivery hours for New Year.
